This
low-mileage 2002 600cc Bandit -- less than
1,600 miles -- is
showroom stock.
It
comes with up-to-date service, a fresh battery, and a Sargent Metro
tank panel.*
If
you're looking for a bike that does everything well, this may be the
one.
The
Bandit 600 is classed as a "standard" motorcycle, a
well-mannered
bike
that performs well under all the riding conditions that most riders
ever
face.
It's not a full-fledged, race-ready sportbike (like its rip-snorting
sibling,
the
GSX-R600) but it will run and handle nearly as well. And it
does it more
comfortably than a sportbike -- the handlebars are higher and closer to the
rider for a more natural seating posture, the footpegs are below the rider's
center of gravity for good balance, and the seat is low enough for even the
inseam-challenged rider to plant both feet securely at a stop. In
addition,
Its handsome half-fairing and windscreen do a surprisingly good job of
protecting the rider from wind and rain. The Bandit is
a pleasure to ride, an
excellent bike for a rider who has learned the
basic skills of motorcycling
and is ready to move beyond a
beginner's bike.
That's
why we have it. We got it for my wife after she had put enough miles
on a
smaller bike to have the skill and confidence to move up. Once she
had taken the Motorcycle Safety Foundation beginning
riders' course and
had
her motorcycle license, we got her a Kawasaki Ninja 250 (which we
recommend as
one of the best possible choices for a learner). After she
outgrew
the
250, we researched middle-sized bikes and decided that the
Bandit 600
would be the best move-up bike for her. Her experience with
the Bandit bears out our judgment -- it has been easy and fun for
her to
ride, totally reliable,and a first-rate
commuter.
(Besides, insurance cost
is low, gas mileage is high, and it looks
great!)
She
has moved up again, to an 1100cc sport-touring bike, and now
we have too many motorcycles in the garage. This
one is for sale for
$3,900.

We
are in Northern Virginia near Washington DC.
Thanks for looking.

"Perhaps
the Bandit 600S should be placed into
a new category,
maybe
a super-standard or even an ultra-commuter. If
there were
indeed
such market niches the Suzuki Bandit 600S would be
the
baseline,
an affordable do-it-all motorcycle with an ample dose
of
style
and personality."
